What is the STHO crawler?
STHO is a booking platform that connects live-music venues and performing artists. To help artists find venues that book live music, we operate an automated crawler that visits publicly available web pages and identifies itself with this User-Agent:
STHO-LeadGen/1.0 (+https://thestho.com/crawler)The crawler only reads publicly accessible pages. It never creates accounts, bypasses logins or paywalls, or submits forms.
What data it collects
It collects only professional information that is already published publicly, such as:
- Venue or business name, address, and general details
- Professional booking contact details published on the site (business email address and phone number)
- Links to public pages, programming, and event information
We process this information on the basis of our legitimate interest in connecting venues and artists (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), and we keep it no longer than our retention schedule allows. Our Privacy Policy explains your rights, including access, rectification, and erasure.
How to opt out
Email us at the address below with your website domain: we will exclude your site from future crawls and, on request, erase the contact details we collected from it.
You can additionally signal your preference to all crawlers, including ours, with a robots.txt rule:
